Description
The Šabac Theatre, located in the historic building of the Crafts Centre at 11 Karađorđeva Street, is an important cultural institution in the city centre. Founded in 1906, the theatre continues the rich tradition of Šabac theatre life, which began in 1840. Today, Šabac offers its audience a variety of productions on three stages: the Children's Stage, the Small Stage named after Dr. Braniva Đorđević and the Large Stage named after Ljubiša Jovanović.
The theatre annually delights its audience with 5-8 premiere productions and over 200 performances, including guest performances. An important milestone in its history was the Ljubiša Jovanović Festival, which attracted leading theatres from Yugoslavia. In the 2016/17 season, the production of Pericles under the direction of Nikita Milivojevic received 15 awards, which confirms the high level of theatrical art.
For those who want to become part of the cultural life of the city, it is proposed to buy tickets for the performances of the Šabac Theatre. The schedule and poster are available on our website, where you can find current and upcoming events. The Šabac Theatre continues to be an integral part of the cultural heritage and contemporary art of the region.
