This December, the legendary band Metallica will perform at the Etihad Park venue

Metallica is a legendary band that stood at the origins of thrash metal. Together with such bands as Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax, they had a significant influence on the formation of this musical direction. From the first days of its existence, Metallica brought innovation to metal, combining the speed and aggression of hardcore with the technicality and complexity of British heavy metal. Their debut album, Kill 'Em All, released in 1983, became a manifesto for the new genre, laying the foundation for thrash metal with its unbridled energy and rebellious spirit. Subsequent releases such as Ride the Lightning (1984) and Master of Puppets (1986) solidified the band's position, demonstrating the development of their style and increasing complexity of musical compositions. Master of Puppets is often cited as one of the greatest albums in metal history; it had a huge impact on the genre and became the benchmark for thrash metal.

But Metallica didn't stop there. In 1988, the album ...And Justice for All was released, where the band demonstrated a willingness to experiment with song structure and performance technique. The 1991 album Metallica, also known as The Black Album, was a breakthrough, making the band one of the most popular in the world and bringing thrash metal closer to a mass audience. The musicians are not afraid to experiment with tempos, melodies and song forms. They record albums with an orchestra, shoot concert films for showing in cinemas around the world and even give a concert in Antarctica. Thanks to this, the band has achieved incredible commercial success, selling over 125 million copies of albums worldwide.

The band's latest album, released in 2023, entitled 72 Seasons, is an example of high-quality music of the highest level. This is not just a new release - it is an immersion in the early years of a person's life, an exploration of those difficult periods of personality formation that leave an indelible mark. James Hetfield, the author of most of the lyrics, sincerely talks about childhood traumas, fears and joys that shape our actions and choices in the future. The opening composition reflects the experiences of people with a difficult past: the lyrics talk about a time haunted by memories and constant negativity imprinted on the hero's soul - in particular, anger. The album raises themes of fighting inner demons, addiction and searching for the meaning of life. Many songs are dedicated to overcoming difficulties and getting out of difficult situations. Hetfield shares his personal experiences, making the album deeply emotional and personal.

Musically, "72 Seasons" takes us back to the origins of Metallica's work, to the heavy sound that brought them worldwide fame. There are no genre experiments of previous years - this is pure heavy metal with powerful riffs and Hetfield's charismatic vocals. This is a frank conversation about the past and the present - music that inspires you to overcome any obstacles.

Visiting the band's concert at Etihad Park is a unique chance to hear both new compositions from the album "72 Seasons" and old hits of the legendary band! Buy tickets to the Metallica concert right now!
