This autumn, Azerbaijan will host the 17th round of the Formula 1 Grand Prix.

The Baku City Circuit, located in the center of Baku and running along the picturesque embankment of the Caspian Sea, will soon host an impressive racing event. For Russian spectators, this is a unique opportunity to see the "royal race" live, since the capital of Azerbaijan is accessible without a visa, and the flight takes less than three hours.

The Baku City Circuit is an unusual combination of city roads and specially designed racing sections. Created under the direction of Hermann Tilke, it first entered the Formula 1 calendar in 2016 as the European Grand Prix, and since 2017 it has been called the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The racers race past historic buildings, through narrow streets and along a beautiful waterfront. The track configuration includes long straights for maximum acceleration and challenging sections with sharp turns that require the highest skill from the drivers. The narrowest section of the track runs through the Old Town and is only 7.6 meters wide, making it one of the most dangerous in Formula 1. Mistakes are almost unacceptable here, and drivers must be extremely careful to avoid collisions. Racing on this track is known for its unpredictability and spectacle.

This year, British driver George Russell from the Mercedes team will take part, driving car number 63. At the moment, he is in third place with 35 points.
