Lazio and Athletic Bilbao are currently level on points in the UEFA Europa League
The tournament is already nearing its end, and the situation in the top three is as follows: in first place with nineteen points and six wins out of eight matches is the Italian Lazio. Last year, the Europa League was won by Atalanta from Italy, which beat the German Bayer in the final with a score of 3:0. However, it is difficult to predict the current winner, since the tournament table remains tight, and the teams demonstrate their best qualities in each match.
The organization of the tournament has changed this year: instead of the usual group stage, a single league stage has been introduced, increasing the number of participants from 32 to 36 teams. All of them are ranked in the overall table by the points scored. The top eight teams will advance directly to the 1/8 finals, while the next sixteen will compete for the remaining spots. For the remaining teams, participation in the European season will end.
The English Premier League is represented by two clubs - Manchester United and Tottenham. Manchester United has consolidated its position in third place, while Tottenham is in fourth position. The main struggle at the moment is unfolding between the Italian and Spanish clubs.
In March, Lazio made it to the quarterfinals of the Europa League, drawing with the Czech Viktoria (1:1) and winning on aggregate (3:2). Athletic Bilbao also continues its journey in the tournament. The next games are scheduled for April.
In addition to playing in the Europa League, Lazio also actively participates in the Italian championship. In the last match on March 2, 2025, Marco Baroni's team won 2-1 against Milan thanks to a penalty in the 90+8th minute.
