In 2025, Baku will once again host a major motorsport event – the Azerbaijan Grand Prix

This will be the seventeenth stage of the famous race, which will take place in sunny Azerbaijan. Last year, on September 15, 2024, the Australian driver from the McLaren team Oscar Piastri won at the city circuit in Baku. Charles Leclerc from Ferrari took second place, and George Russell from Mercedes came in third.

Oscar Piastri, who became the winner last year, will again strive to repeat his success. This talented Australian, who competed in Formula 2 in 2020, has already won two races in Abu Dhabi in 2024, showed three fastest laps and won ten podiums in Formula 1. He is considered one of the most promising young pilots in the top division and has eight championship titles in karting under his belt.

Charles Leclerc is no less an interesting athlete. Born to an entrepreneur and former Formula 3 driver, the 2022 vice-champion from Monaco has eight race wins, 26 pole positions, 10 fastest laps and 43 podiums in Formula 1 since the prestigious Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2024.

George Russell, who finished third in Azerbaijan last year, is from England. In 2024, he won the Belgian Grand Prix and qualified for the British Grand Prix, and is sixth in the current season with 245 points.
