Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury will meet again in the ring in December of this year
The first twelve-round professional fight for the absolute world heavyweight champion title took place on May 18, 2024, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. It featured Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, holder of the WBA Super, IBF, WBO, IBO and The Ring titles, and Briton Tyson Fury, the WBC champion. In that fight, Usyk won by split decision, after which he gave up the championship belt, giving Joshua and Dubois the opportunity to prove themselves.
Fury, known for his eccentric antics, such as appearing at a press conference with Klitschko dressed as Batman, and offensive songs in the ring, has already stated his confidence in victory in the upcoming fight. However, many believe that Usyk, despite the difficulties in his country, will be able to defeat the "Gypsy King" again. Usyk is known for his discipline, while Fury often gets into scandals related to addictions and psychological problems. In the summer, he was even escorted out of a bar after excessive alcohol consumption, which the athlete's representatives explained by a long break from drinking.
Although Usyk also sometimes finds himself in the spotlight due to conflicts with the police or plans to become an actor, there is no hostility between the fighters on social media. Perhaps this is due to the fact that the preparation for the fight is taking place in silence, or the rematch is not as important to them as their fans think. In December, it will become clear whether Fury will be able to take revenge for his past defeat.
