In the spring of 2026, Minsk will host the Commonwealth Cup, an international figure skating tournament.

This international competition in singles, ice dancing, and pairs skating will be held for the second time and will once again bring together figure skaters from different countries on the ice arena. Last season, the 2024/2025 championship consisted of two stages: the first in Minsk, and the second in Kaluga. This format allowed the maximum number of figure skating fans to attend the competition.

The upcoming tournament will retain this organizational format. The first Commonwealth Cup featured athletes from five countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and China. Figure skaters of varying skill levels, including those who competed at the Beijing Olympics, participated in the sporting events. A total of 385 athletes participated in the competition last year. Among the Russian figure skaters, the best were Petr Gumennik, Ekaterina Anisimova, Vladimir Oshchepkov, Veronika Yametova, and the pair of Milana Kuzmina and Dmitry Studenikin.

The final stage featured vibrant exhibition performances by figure skating stars. The program for the spring Commonwealth Cup has not yet been published, but it is already clear that the competition will be fierce, as the best skaters will be competing in the tournament.
